Bordering with China for 4630 km and Russia for 3452 km, Mongolia faced a high risk of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. Mongolians were rather obedient to the restrictions exposed by the government since January 2020. As a result, Mongolia hit by the Covid-19 mildest in central Assia.
The first community transmitted case of Covid-19 registered in Ulaanbaatar on 10 November 2020. Since then, Covid-19 cases recorded in six provinces out of those 21 provinces of Mongolia. The nationwide lockdown eventually helped to tackle the virus from further spreading. By 09 January 2021, all places other than Ulaanbaatar is Covid-19 free.
